Sewing Day with Mom

Sewing has never been a strong area of my life. I once, in Jr. High School or maybe it was even High School sewed myself to my project and my teacher finished it for me.  I still got a B. Imagine that. Anyways - like I said sewing is not one of my greater talents.  But  I have always admired people, particularly my sister Amy, mom and grandmother for their sewing abilities.

I am now older...almost, well actually at least 15 years older than that school experience with sewing, so I thought I'd give it another try.  I need curtains for some of the windows in the house.  And buying curtains is so expensive - I thought how hard can it be to make some.

I enlisted my mom's help on this cold rainy Saturday and I made a curtain for my back door window.  It is very simple design and I think it turned out alright given my past and that it was my first attempt at sewing a curtain.  I am quite proud of it and I think I'll try it again - next time for the kitchen!

It's cute! Sometimes I wish that I could sew...maybe someday I'll give in and learn. :)
